Certificate in Health Policy & Management: Course of Study

Objectives

Enrollment in the certificate program is limited to ensure active participation and interaction among faculty and program participants. The program offers students the option of selecting four courses (11 credits) from a list of five approved courses from the Master of Public Health program. Courses are offered at the Muskie School in Portland as well as at all University of Maine System campuses through UNET (the University's Interactive television Network).

Requirements

The certificate typically consists of the following courses (11 credits) courses from the graduate Health Policy & Management program:

Students may request substitution of one of the following courses for any one of the preceding four courses:

Certificate Students

HPM certificate students have varied work experiences, interests and educational backgrounds, hold a variety of positions in health and service organizations, public agencies, nonprofits and the private sector. Examples include:
