1. How would you rate your agency's staff in terms of their understanding of ASFA requirements? We are particularly interested in the level of understanding of managers, supervisors and workers. Please rate their understanding on a scale from 1 to 5 with 1 being 'poor' and 5 being 'comprehensive'.

Comments: At the management level, people have been trained and attended meetings where ASFA information has been provided and reviewed. However, we continue to provide training and work on implementation of consistent practice throughout the state.

We have set up several committees to focus on areas such as Information Systems and Casework. Also we set up a system to deal with permanency planning for committed delinquents.

We developed and are using a new treatment planning document and the Administrative Case Review Unit is putting extra effort into reviewing the delinquency cases for full compliance with ASFA.

We have a series of on-going recruitment activities, for example open houses, newsletters, support groups, radio/TV and media campaigns. We are putting a special emphasis on minority recruitments now also.

Our Information Systems unit is doing a lot of work to upgrade the system and provide us with reports and ticklers necessary to track compliance with ASFA. This is a large assignment and continues to be worked on.
