1. How would you rate your agency's staff in terms of their understanding of ASFA requirements? We are particularly interested in the level of understanding of managers, supervisors and workers. Please rate their understanding on a scale from 1 to 5 with 1 being 'poor' and 5 being 'comprehensive'.

a. Managers:

Comments: Delaware went through the CFSR in 2001 so administrators understand ASFA and the implications.

DE’s CFSR was in 3/01. Prior to and as we are working on the PIP, we increased communication to all levels of staff if we are to provide safety and permanency to all children home or in care.

We are currently redesigning the quality assurance tool for investigators and admin and have redesigned the case conference tool for all supervisors.

Admin and Permanency supervisors work well with data and ASFA but not investigation or some treatment staff and supervisors.

Yes. The statewide assessment process has been very useful for identifying both strengths and weaknesses in our system.


10. Is there anything else that you want to tell us regarding the best way to support staff as they implement the requirements of ASFA?

Staff don’t always know and understand the financial impact if something is not done or not timely.
