Building Research Infrastucture Capacity

Welcome

The Muskie School, in collaboration with the USM College of Nursing and Health Professions, Maine Medical Center, and Maine Health, has a federal grant to improve the quality of chronic illness care in Maine. The resources will help Maine health services researchers build capacity to study the best ways to improve the care of Mainers who suffer from chronic illnesses, such as asthma or high blood pressure. It provides "seed money" to foster collaborative research projects to improve chronic illness care and create a Practice Improvement Research Center.

The two-year project is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the lead federal agency charged with improving the quality, safety, efficiency and effectiveness of health care for all Americans.

What's New

Several noted national researchers who are experts in qualitative and quantitative research and organizational behavior came to Maine to consult with the project team. Each visiting expert gave a public lecture on their work. These presentations are available on the Activities page.
