Behavioral Intervention Programs Approved by DHHS-Adult Mental Health Services

MANDT
    Developed by David Mandt, most MANDT trainings are conducted 'in-house' by those agencies that use it to meet this requirement for MHRT I.  If your agency would like to have someone trained as a trainer in their program, go to the MANDT website, click on "Training" and then "Training Locations" for dates, locations and costs.  The Intermediate Level of training in MANDT is the completion of the Relational and Technical Workshops.

NAPPI

    Non-Abusive Psychological Physical Intervention. NAPPI trainings are both conducted on-site and in public seminars. They also provide a train-the-trainer course in NAPPI. For more information, please go to their website  or call 1-800-358-6277.

    Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. is based in Wisconsin, but offers trainings world-wide.  See their website for a listing of training locations/dates.

Personal Safety Training for Social Workers

CPR and First Aid

The American Red Cross
    The Red Cross has offices across the state of Maine and offers instruction in both CPR and First Aid.  Contact information can be found on their website by clicking on the Maine Chapters link.

American Heart Association
   
On the website, choose "CPR" on the side menu and then "Find a Class Near You".  In the new window, enter your zip code and choose the CPR button, then press the "Submit" button.  You will then be provided with a list of instructors in your area with contact information, most of these instructors offer both CPR and First Aid.  PLEASE NOTE:  The American Heart Association changed the formatting of their training card in the summer of 2006.  If you apply for certification using one of their cards, we need a copy of both sides of the card.

American Safety & Health Institute

Certified Residential Medication Aide

Maine DHHS Division of Licensing and Regulatory Services maintains a full list of upcoming CRMA courses.  On the website, click on "Training Schedule" for the list of upcoming courses.  If you have lost your CRMA certificate, you can obtain a replacement through the Training Certificate page on their website.  You will need your first/last name and the last four digits of your SSN to obtain a copy.
