I faxed in my registration form--how do I know I'm actually registered?  Within one week of submitting your registration, you should receive a confirmation from CFL by email, fax, or mail.  If you do not receive a confirmation, contact us.  No news is NOT good news!  You must receive a confirmation to be sure a seat and training materials are reserved for you.
Why do you need SSN information? We request the last 4 digits of your SSN to create and maintain a unique number for your records.  (Last names, addresses, and affiliations may change, but your SSN does not.)  This unique number helps us keep your completed trainings listed to your credit and our information about you accurate and up-to-date.
What if I need to cancel my registration? Please notify the CFL contact person listed for the event that you will not be able to attend.  If we have a wait list, someone else will gladly fill your spot.  If you do not know the appropriate contact person, please email CFL.
In case of inclement weather, how will I know if the training has been cancelled? You may call (207) 626-5231 after 6:30 a.m. on the day of the event to see if it has been cancelled.  If your event is not specifically cancelled in the phone message, it will be held as scheduled.
May I send someone else to a training in my place? In most instances, yes.  Some trainings, however, do specify prerequisites or require individual approval beforehand.  Please contact us if you would like someone else to attend in your place.
Will I get CEUs for my attendance? We provide contact hour certificates for completed trainings and conferences.  Individuals must contact their own respective licensing boards to find out if a specific training may be applied toward continuing education requirements, license renewals, etc.

(There are infrequent instances when CFL will apply for actual CEUs, CMEs, or CLEs for a particular conference.  That information will be made very clear in the registration materials.)
I've heard Muskie offers computer classes for DHHS employees.  Where do I find out about them? Muskie's Technology Training Group does schedule computer classes for employees of DHHS and their partner agencies. You can find out about course offerings and how to register at their website:  http://muskie.maine.usm.edu/ttg.
Is the Center for Learning part of SETU? No, the Center for Learning is not part of SETU (Staff Education and Training Unit). The SETU is part of the Department of Health and Human Services. You can obtain information about SETU trainings at their website:    http://www.maine.gov/dhhs/setu/setu.htm.
The Center for Learning is part of USM's Muskie School, Institute of Public Sector Innovation.
Are professional development funds available for me to attend outside workshops and conferences? Money is available through CFL for some DHHS employees to attend workshops that are not sponsored by DHHS/CFL.  For complete information, see our Workshop Allocations page.
