Dear Mental Health Provider;

We are writing to clarify requirements related to documentation of qualifications of Other Qualified Mental Health
Professionals (OQMHPs).  Chapter II, Section 65 of the MaineCare Benefits Manual, §65.085 says, "Approval to
deliver services as an OQMHP must be documented by written evidence on file with the Department of Behavioral
and Developmental Services."  The only staff for whom the provider to submit such documentation are those
OQMHPs who receive certification from the Muskie School.  The provider must maintain documentation regarding
qualifications internally for all other OQMHPs.
