Opportunities for Giving

How to Make a Gift

All Annual Fund giving should begin with the completion of an Annual Fund Gift Form. All gifts will receive an acknowledgement letter and receipt of contribution.

Endowed gifts should be directed to the USM Foundation and require an Endowment Gift/Pledge Form.

Online Giving

You can also make a gift with our Online Gift Form. Make sure you indicate the designation is for "Annual Fund-restricted" and put in the comments section "Muskie School."

Please make check payable to USM Muskie School of Public Service and mail to:

Mastercard or Visa Credit Card

There is a place on the Gift/Pledge Form to include your Visa or MasterCard Account number and expiration date.

Securities

A gift of appreciated securities and closely held stock enables you to receive an income tax deduction and minimize capital gains to the extent allowed by tax law.

How to Transfer Securities for Muskie Annual Scholarships

For donating a gift of appreciated stocks (having been purchased at least a year prior to making a gift) to Muskie Annual Scholarships, which are in the possession of donor’s stockbroker, please have the broker electronically transfer the corporate stock to the University of Maine System account which has been established at:

With the transfer, please include information about what the donor would like the proceeds to support at Muskie. Also please notify USM’s advancement services office, Pauline Roux at (207) 780-4119; or pauline@usm.maine.edu; when the transfer is expected to take place (when the order for transfer has been executed).

How to Transfer Securities for Capital and Endowment Giving to USM Foundation

For capital or endowment giving, your broker can electronically transfer stocks to the University of Southern Maine Foundation. In order to accurately assign your gift to the designated purpose, please call or e-mail, your name, the type of stock and number of shares to: Karen Pelletier at (207) 780-4741 or kpelletier@usm.maine.edu
