March 15, 2012: (Webinar Recording) During this call, we discussed checklists and the potential for using them in innovative ways in child welfare.  Atul Gawande authored a book called The Checklist Manifesto a few years ago in which he describes the way various industries and organizations have used checklists to make dramatic improvements in different processes. Prior to the book, he also published an article in The New Yorker magazine on checklists.

In response to requests from several of our colleagues in the QI Peer Network we discussed the engagement and involvement of stakeholders, parents and youth in local improvement planning and implementation efforts.

2011

bullet September 8, 2011: (Webinar Recording) This call focused on Minnesota's QA system at the state and county levels.  Lori Munsterman and Christine Harder-Mehl from DHS and John Nalezny from Washington County and Suzanne Arntson from Scott County provided overviews of the state and county QA approaches, including their collaborative efforts to develop local and statewide improvement initiatives and resources. 
bullet June 9, 2011: (Webinar Recording) Administrative Review Division (ARD) in Colorado profiles their QA system and shows us a variety of their instruments, reports and materials. In addition, we discussed ARD's recent efforts to engage counties in Colorado in a process designed to develop action plans in response to review findings.
