Supervisory
Training: Putting the Pieces Together
This curriculum is now available for use by the child welfare
field. Based on Kadushin’s functional model of supervision, the
curriculum is divided into three modules, Administrative, Educational,
and Supportive Supervision. The training was developed and field tested
by the Butler Institute for Families at the Graduate School of Social
Work at the University of Denver. The curriculum contains full instructions
to trainers, the content to be presented, bibliographies, assessment tools,
and related PowerPoint slides.
Assessing Your Supervisory
Training: Trainer's Guide
Supervisors are at the center of the child welfare agency’s effort
to achieve the outcomes of safety, permanency, and well-being for children
and families. The state's or county's supervisor training sets the context
for the supervisor’s role and lays the foundation for the supervisor’s
knowledge and skills. This curriculum is designed to help you systematically
assess your agency's supervisor training curricula to determine it's strengths
and areas needing future action for improvement.
In addition to on-site technical assistance and training,
we have covered training system and workforce development topics in many
of our teleconferences, newsletters
and publications.
