Sample Course Tracks for the Maine Roads Core Knowledge Training

I would like to use my training toward college credits in Early Childhood Education...

Providers who complete a specialized 180 hours of training and complete the corresponding portfolio activities may apply to any one of Maine’s public community colleges to receive credit toward their ECE degree. The Core Knowledge Training Program’s courses are:

  • Getting started in Family Child Care or Foundations in Center-based Care
  • Starting Your Core Knowledge Portfolio
  • Introduction to Early Childhood Eduation
  • Partners in Caring – Families and Caregivers
  • Caring for the Abuse Affected Child
  • Caring for Infants, Toddlers and Their Families
  • Curriculum and Development for Preschool Aged Children
  • Working with School Age Children and Youth
  • Inclusive Child Care
  • Completing Your Maine Roads Core Knowledge Portfolio
  • Electives (18 hours)
