Muskie Economist Receives International Honors
Dr. Barbara Fraumeni, associate dean of research and an economist at the Muskie School, has recently received several national and international honors. Early this year, she was named by the National Academies of Science to a panel of experts for the Committee on National Statistics who will evaluate productivity in higher education. She was then named to a task force on measuring sustainable development by the UN Economic Commission for Europe, OECD, and Eurostat. Membership on this task force will include 20-24 international experts from the statistical and academic communities. Finally, she was appointed a senior fellow of the China Center for Human Capital and Labor Market Research of the Central University for Finance and Economics in Beijing, China.
