$10.7M for Domestic Violence and Child Welfare
The Muskie School has recently been awarded $10.7 million for nationally competitive research and technical assistance projects on domestic violence and child welfare issues across the United States.
The National Child Welfare Resource Center for Organizational Improvement has been awarded a new competitive $7 million 5-year contract to provide technical assistance, training and research to state and tribal agencies and organizations across the U.S. that are dedicated to the welfare of children, youth and families.
The VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) Measuring Effectiveness Initiative has earned a $2.3M, 18-month continuation grant from the US Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women to provide training, technical assistance, and data analysis for programs addressing sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking in their communities.
"In addition to the benefits this work provides all Americans, these grants are a tremendous boon to Maine," said Bill Foster, dean of the Muskie School, "by enabling the School to attract highly-skilled professionals and add to our growing knowledge economy."
