About the Institute

The Catherine E. Cutler Institute for Child and Family Policy has a national reputation for conducting high quality research, evaluation, technical assistance and training in a variety of areas affecting children and their families. Its current areas of concentration include organizational improvement, child welfare, early childhood development and justice, youth and family support services.

The mission of the Institute is to improve the quality of human service systems in order to preserve and strengthen families and promote the well-being of family members; to foster team work, collaboration and personal and professional growth of staff; and to continuously improve our ability to meet the needs of those we serve while advancing academic and professional standards of excellence.

Institute professionals have conducted research projects and designed, implemented and evaluated programs for national, state and local government bodies as well as non-profit agencies, courts and law enforcement.
