Enhanced Training and Services to End Violence and Abuse of Women in Later Life Program

Program Overview

This discretionary grant program is designed to address the issue of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking against victims who are 50 years of age or older, through training and services. Eligible applicants include States, Indian tribal governments and tribal organizations, units of local government, and nonprofit nongovernmental victim services organizations with demonstrated experience in assisting elderly women or demonstrated experience in addressing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

As a result of VAWA 2000, all grant recipients are statutorily required to report on the effectiveness of their projects, and the Attorney General must report to Congress on the effectiveness of each grant program. Therefore, grantees funded under this program must collect and maintain data that measures their effectiveness. Grantees are required to submit a Semi-Annual Progress Report.
