S*T*O*P Violence Against Women Formula Grants Database

Please be aware that this database has been designed to collect data for the old S*T*O*P form. It does not reflect any changes made to the revised form. We are currently in the process of designing a new database. Emails will be sent to all grantees as soon as it is completed. Meanwhile, if you use this database, please remember to collect separately any new information needed for the revised form

This database has been designed to assist Office on Violence Against Women grantees to collect data for the Annual Progress Reporting forms designed by the VAWA Measuring Effectiveness Initiative at the Muskie School of Public Service. The database application is specifically designed to collect the data for this progress reporting form. It is NOT MANDATORY to use this database to collect and report the data for the Annual Progress Reporting form, and you will not be able to transfer data from the database to the GMS reporting system. As such, any client identifying or any other confidential information will remain with the database and will not be shared with either OVW or the Muskie School. Any grantee using a network to house the database or sharing the database with other project partners must independently ensure client confidentiality. (For more information about client confidentiality, click here on the Data Security Checklist prepared by the National Network to End Domestic Violence.) This is a freeware software application, i.e. you can alter, modify, or adapt it to new contexts or new uses as per the terms in the Freeware License Agreement.

To run the database application you will require MS Access 2000 or higher on your computer.

This application collects information on specific activities and creates a summary report for the data entered. Information is collected in the application using user-friendly screens called forms and output is shown using printable reports.

This database application was created by Sameer Mahimkar, Data Manager and Research Analyst in consultation with Dr. Lacey Sloan, Research Associate at the Muskie School. Testing of the database and editorial assistance for the Instruction Manual was provided by Susan Pate, Research Analyst, Anna Melbin, Research Analyst, and Catherine Stakeman, Consultant. The database application was supported by Grant No. 2000-WT-VX-K002 awarded by the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice. Points of view in this database application are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official position or policies of the U.S. Department of Justice or of other staff members, officers, trustees, advisory groups, or funders of the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service.

The application collects the data and provides reports on the following questions of the reporting form:

Training – (Q11, Q12, Q13)
Products – (Q16)
Victim Services – (Q21, Q22, Q23, Q24, Q25, Q26, Q27)
