Grants for Outreach and Services to Underserved Populations Grant Program

Program Overview

The Underserved Program was established in 2015 to fund community-based agencies which provide outreach and services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking within underserved populations. Grant funds may be used to strengthen the capacity within underserved populations to provide population-specific services, as well as strengthen the capacity of traditional victim service providers to provide population-specific services. Underserved populations eligible under this grant program include but are not limited to agencies providing outreach and services to victims who are Deaf, LGBT, or belong to a religious minority.

As a result of VAWA 2000, all grant recipients are statutorily required to report on the effectiveness of their projects, and the Attorney General must report to Congress on the effectiveness of each grant program. Therefore, grantees funded under this program must collect and maintain data that measures their effectiveness. Grantees are required to submit a Semi-Annual Progress Report.
