  Continuous Quality Improvement Services:

PLEASE NOTE: The Federal grant for the NRCOI ended on September 29, 2014. This website is remaining live to keep the resources and information the NRCOI has published throughout the years easily accessible. This information is not being updated.

The NRCOI’s training and technical assistance (T/TA) services helped State and Tribal child welfare agencies develop and implement continuous quality improvement (CQI) systems and meet federal requirements for measuring child and family outcomes. A basic framework for CQI guided our approach to assessing and helping agencies develop and improve their CQI systems:

Specifically, we offered resources and technical assistance in the following areas related to CQI:

bullet Developing and implementing qualitative case review systems, such as the CFSR process
bullet Implementing model CQI practices and techniques from other State and Tribal agencies
bullet Training CQI staff to provide ongoing technical assistance and support in the agency;
bullet Using data and information in decision making at all levels of the agency (e.g., administrators, managers, supervisors and workers)
bullet Developing measurement strategies for CFSR Program Improvement Plans
