Training Systems:
PLEASE NOTE: The Federal grant for the NRCOI ended on September 29, 2014. This website is remaining live to keep the resources and information the NRCOI has published throughout the years easily accessible. This information is not being updated.
The National Child Welfare Resource Center for Organizational Improvement (NRCOI) provided T/TA to public State and Tribal child welfare agencies on training systems.
We helped agency administrators and training managers think about their training system as a management tool that supports the work and mission of the agency, sustains organizational improvements and assures that personnel at every level of the agency have needed values, attitudes, and skills. An effective training system should, at minimum, support and link with the agency’s:
|
Practice Model |
|
Supervisors |
|
Management and other internal systems, such as policy, QA and case reviews |
|
External Partners |
We provided tools and T/TA that helped agencies assess their training system. We also worked with agencies as they developed curricula for supervisors, managers and administrators to build supervisory skills, support a skilled and stable workforce and achieve better outcomes for children and their families.
We continued to work with national child welfare and social work organizations, States, counties, and institutions of higher education to collect and share best practices around training tools, curriculum development and worker retention and recruitment. Additionally we provided T/TA to States and Tribes on workforce issues such as workload and worker safety.
